“We
are already one. But we imagine that we are not.
And what we have to recover is our original unity.
What we have to be is what we are. “
-Thomas
Merton
Could
it be true that all roads lead to one goal? Can it be possible that
almost all religions are basically the same? Is the concept of
transcendental unity of religions a reality supported by facts or is
this just a figment of a modern-day mystic's imagination? This
WebQuest on Interfaith Dialog tries to find out the answers to these
big questions.
The
history of religion in our country and in many other parts of the
world, just like politics, is a history of divisiveness and
conflict. The youth, as well as the young at heart in this
generation, can change this if they can just open their hearts and
mind. Promoting religious understanding and cooperation would be a
a valuable key towards the attainment of this goal. It
is hoped that this WebQuest might be able to bring out the light from
the darkness and that wisdom from ignorance, so that someday we may
live in a world of peace, cooperation and goodwill among all the
religions of the world.
